Recreational Activities as a part of PSS

Recreational activity as a part of PSS in group session aims to improve the well‐being of individuals aged (5-17) for both genders by delivering psychosocial support in a group format, which can encourage the development of peer support and social networks. The group sessions often also incorporate mixing the children with and without disabilities, relaxation techniques, coping skills, life skills and education on the impairment management. Gashbun will also provide awareness/information sessions on the rights, abilities and support to provide to children with disabilities in the center.

Objectives

  • Support children to reduce psychological distress and integrate in life skills sessions
  • Support inclusion of children in activities according to their skills and capacities
  • Reduce discrimination and stigma through awareness sessions on rights and abilities of children with impairments
  • Throughout the sessions children are looking forwards to their rights
